The 29th Annual Meeting of the Regions for Health Network (RHN) took place from November 25-27, 2024, in Trieste, Italy, hosted by the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. The event brought together more than 100 participants from 36 regions across 23 Member States, along with representatives from partner organizations and the World Health Organization (WHO).
The meeting served as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of knowledge aimed at improving community well-being. Key topics of discussion included healthy ageing, the health and care workforce, the Well-Being Economy, the commercial determinants of health, cross-border collaboration, and public health strategies.
Sessions were designed to be interactive, and a site visit to Gorizia highlighted a mental health facility and a newly opened Women’s House. These visits emphasized the meeting’s focus on inclusive, community-driven health initiatives.
The event concluded with the adoption of the Trieste Statement, which reaffirms the commitment of regional leaders to promote health and well-being at the local level.
