Year 8 students from Yampil Gymnasium recently participated in two educational sessions, one focused on the health risks of smoking and the other on managing finances. The sessions, organized with the support of the Danish Red Cross, aimed to raise awareness and promote healthier choices.
The first session covered the dangers of both active and passive smoking, highlighting the serious health risks associated with it. Students also learned about the potential dangers of e-cigarettes. An interactive discussion followed, where participants explored the benefits of quitting smoking. A game titled “Myth or Truth about Smoking” helped students better understand how smoking harms the body and overall well-being.
In the second session, students learned practical skills on how to manage money wisely. They were also encouraged to replace harmful habits with healthier ones.
These sessions are especially important for young people, as childhood is a critical time for forming habits that can affect their health for years to come.
