A recent study suggests that eating foods rich in flavonoids may lower the risk of serious health problems and help increase lifespan.
Researchers found that people who regularly consume tea, berries, dark chocolate, and apples may enjoy the protective benefits of these compounds. Flavonoids are natural substances known for their antioxidant properties, which help reduce cellular damage and inflammation.
The research was a joint effort by teams from Queen’s University Belfast, Edith Cowan University in Perth, and the Medical University of Vienna.
The results indicate that including a range of flavonoid-rich foods in the daily diet could support better health over time.
However, while the study shows promising links between these foods and long-term health benefits, more research is needed to fully understand how they work.
