Taiwan Issues Global Call for Innovative Health Proposals

by Kaia

Bangkok, June 19, 2025 – Taiwan has launched a global campaign to strengthen its presence in the health industry and build international partnerships. The campaign, titled “Go Healthy with Taiwan,” is led by the International Trade Administration (TITA) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and implemented by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). The initiative invites governments, institutions, companies, and organizations around the world to submit innovative proposals that combine Taiwan’s health products and solutions with efforts to improve global well-being.

At the official launch on June 3, Susan Hu, Deputy Director General of TITA, emphasized that the campaign is part of Taiwan’s broader vision of building a healthier society. She noted that it supports President Lai Ching-te’s “Healthy Taiwan” policy by encouraging international cooperation on sustainable health solutions.

The event featured a baseball-themed launch under the slogan “Pitching Taiwan’s Best: A Home Run for Proposals!” Professional player An-Ko Lin, known for his achievements in the WBSC Premier12 tournament, appeared alongside “Fu Bear,” the mascot of Taiwan Excellence, to symbolize the country’s active engagement with the world.

Several industry leaders attended the launch, including Robert Wu, Chairman of the Taiwan Bicycle Association; Jeff Chen, President of the Taiwan Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association; and Spark Huang, Director of the Taiwan Medical and Biotech Industry Association. Diplomats and international media from Europe, the U.S., Southeast Asia, and the Middle East also participated, showing strong global interest in the initiative.

The campaign focuses on five sectors: smart healthcare, medical aesthetics and wellness, fitness equipment, sports technologies, and bicycles. Taiwan’s bicycle industry, often called the “Bicycle Kingdom,” plays a key role in reducing carbon emissions and supporting sustainable supply chains. In the fitness sector, Taiwanese companies are setting new standards by using AI and strong research and development.

Taiwan is also combining its advanced information and communication technology with its strong medical system to deliver smart healthcare solutions for the global market. This integration helps provide innovative and efficient health services worldwide.

This year’s campaign follows the success of last year’s “Go Green with Taiwan,” which received 396 proposals from 45 countries. Organizers aim to collect over 500 submissions this year from across five continents. The top three proposals will each receive a US$30,000 award. All high-quality proposals will be considered for partnership and commercial opportunities with Taiwanese companies.
