Andrea and John Jaskowiak are on a mission to promote a healthy lifestyle while giving back to their community through their business, Jasko’s Farm. Located in Louisiana, their farm offers a variety of organic products, all grown and produced with a focus on health and sustainability.
Organic, Free-Range Eggs and Homemade Goods
One of Jasko’s Farm’s main offerings is their organic, free-range eggs. Andrea and John take pride in raising their chickens and geese without cages, allowing them to roam freely, forage for insects, and enjoy the benefits of the natural environment. “Our chickens get healthy sun, grasses, and bugs, which are essential for their health,” says Andrea. This holistic approach results in high-quality, pesticide-free eggs.
The couple also offers a range of homemade products including jellies, jams, salsas, relishes, and pickles. “I do it just because I like it and they taste good,” Andrea shares. Their customers enjoy these homemade goods, many of which are made without artificial ingredients or preservatives. Andrea even bakes healthy white bread and made applesauce last year.
A Vision for Health and Community Support
Both Andrea and John have backgrounds in healthcare—Andrea is a respiratory therapist, and John is an Army veteran and nurse—which has further fueled their passion for promoting health. On Saturdays, they can be found at the Cabrini Farmers Market, where they sell their products from 9 a.m. to noon at St. Francis Cabrini Church in Alexandria.
They have plans to expand their farm’s offerings, with plans to include fresh produce such as tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, and okra. Although they lack the acreage for corn, their dedication to growing nutritious, organic food remains strong.
Jasko’s Farm stands as a beacon of health-conscious living, offering the community access to products that are as good for the body as they are for the environment.
