As part of the Ted Wragg Trust, St Luke’s has integrated student mental health ambassadors into its support network. These ambassadors play a key role in strengthening student services by providing a safe, supportive environment for their peers. They offer a listening ear and offer meaningful guidance to those in need.

St Luke’s offers various support services, including Poppy the therapy dog, wellbeing drop-ins, and access to a school counselor. The school also incorporates mindfulness sessions during tutor periods to help students manage both their physical and mental health.

In a report from last year, Ofsted inspectors highlighted the school’s commitment to wellbeing, noting how students learn to care for their mental health through such initiatives.

Headteacher Harrison Littler expressed pride in receiving the Bronze Mental Health Charter Mark. “This award reflects the dedication of our staff, students, and especially our mental health ambassadors,” he said. “They work tirelessly to make St Luke’s a safe, supportive, and nurturing place for everyone.”

Moira Marder, CEO of the Ted Wragg Multi-Academy Trust, praised St Luke’s leadership in student wellbeing, stating, “At the Ted Wragg Trust, we believe supporting emotional wellbeing is key to helping young people thrive. This award is a recognition of St Luke’s inclusive, compassionate culture and the crucial role that student voice plays in shaping it.”
