On Saturday, the YMCA of Southern Nevada held its annual Healthy Kids Day at Durango Hills YMCA, offering free, family-friendly activities to kick off a safe and active summer. The event emphasized healthy lifestyles and water safety, including demonstrations and early registration for the free Safety Around Water (SAW) program, which teaches crucial swimming skills to local youth. Sponsored nationally by Peanuts, the event also gave families early access to the YMCA’s outdoor water park before its official opening.
Shene Tracy, Senior Experience Director, highlighted the YMCA’s commitment to helping families stay active both physically and mentally throughout the summer. Local vendors participated, creating a festive atmosphere for the entire community.
