Dr. Corinne Kyriacou, Associate Professor and Vice Dean of the School of Health Sciences at Hofstra University, was recently featured in Long Island Business News for her insights into the region’s growing healthcare sector.
According to Dr. Kyriacou, advancements in medical technology, an aging population, and an increasing demand for healthcare services have all contributed to the expansion of the healthcare and health science industries on Long Island. “This growth is opening up more opportunities for students, particularly in fields like nursing, biotechnology, and healthcare administration,” she explained. “It also highlights the critical role of STEM education and training for both clinical and non-clinical positions.”
Dr. Kyriacou emphasized that as healthcare industries expand, students have greater access to internships, hands-on learning experiences, and promising career paths across various health-related sectors.
